Who we are
Blooms at London is a florist based in Putney, Fulham Broadway, Wimbledon & Hammersmith. Our website address is bloomsatlondon.com. We are the data controller for the personal information we collect through this website.
What data we collect
When you place an order or contact us, we may collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number and delivery address
- Recipient name and delivery address (if different from yours)
- Payment information (processed securely by our payment provider — we do not store card details)
- Order history and correspondence
How we use your data
We use your data to:
- Process and fulfil your orders
- Communicate with you about your order
- Send you marketing emails if you have opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time)
- Improve our website and services
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with trusted third-party service providers (e.g. payment processors, email platforms) solely to fulfil your order. All third parties are required to keep your data secure.
AI shopping assistant (currently a trial feature)
We are currently trialling an AI-powered shopping assistant (“Blume”) on this website, which you can open from the chat icon to ask about flowers, occasions, or general questions about our shop. This is a test feature: it may be changed, paused or removed at any time, and using it is entirely optional — the rest of the website and our ordering process work fully without it.
If you use it, the exact text you type is sent to Anthropic PBC, a third-party AI company based in the United States, together with our current product catalogue and some basic shop information (such as opening hours, delivery areas and contact details), so that Anthropic’s AI model can generate a reply. Anthropic processes this for us as a sub-processor — see “Data sharing” above.
Please bear this in mind before you type something into the chat: if your message includes personal information — for example, your name, someone else’s name, or a delivery address — that text is sent to Anthropic as part of the conversation, because the assistant has no way to filter this out. We recommend keeping personal or sensitive details out of the chat and using the checkout form for anything order-specific.
The assistant cannot look up, change or cancel an existing order and has no access to your account or order history — for anything about an existing order, please contact us directly.
Your conversation is held in temporary server memory for the length of your chat session (capped at the most recent 40 messages) and is not saved to a permanent database; it is cleared once your session ends or the underlying service restarts. Separately, we keep a short record that a conversation happened and, where relevant, which product it recommended — this record does not include the wording of your messages.
Your browser also keeps its own copy of the conversation, separately from the copy described above. This is stored in your browser’s temporary “session storage” for this tab — not in a cookie, and not in any storage that stays behind once you close the tab. It is cleared automatically when you close the tab, or you can clear it sooner by clearing your browser’s site data for this website. Alongside the conversation, your browser holds a short session identifier, which is sent to us with each message so the assistant can follow the thread of what you have asked — it is not used for advertising, and because it lives only in this browser and this tab, it cannot be used to track you across other sites. If your browser blocks or restricts this kind of storage, for example in private browsing, the assistant still works; it simply starts a fresh conversation next time.
Anthropic is based in the United States, so using the assistant means your message is sent to, and processed in, the United States as part of generating a reply. That transfer is covered by Anthropic’s data processing terms, which apply automatically to our use of their service and which put the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses in place — the safeguards UK data protection law recognises for sending personal data outside the UK. Under those terms Anthropic acts only as our processor: it handles your message on our instructions.
The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interests in offering a shopping tool that you have chosen to use, and in responding to the specific question you have asked us. You can choose not to use the assistant at any time.
Data retention
We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil your order and comply with our legal obligations (typically up to 7 years for financial records).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, please contact us at info@bloomsatlondon.com.

We use cookies to improve your browsing experience. See our Cookie Policy for details.
